Following the annual Carol Service at CCF, thirty runners set off for a run around Lostock Hall in aid of the Bulabakulu Children's Village in Uganda. They raised a total of £190 to add to over £7,300 already raised in recent weeks through generous donations and fund raising activities.

For the record Matthew Whymark won the race - well done Matthew! Just a few minutes earlier he had been playing percussion with the band at the annual Carol Service attended by over 200 people and involving every generation in a wonderful celebration of the birth of Jesus. IMG 5301webChildren took part in a nativity and read from Luke's Gospel, reminding us of how God loved our world so much that He sent Jesus. IMG 5305webYoung people produced a video which pointed to the real meaning of Christmas, and Mercy People - a choir for justice - sang songs celebrating the amazing birth of Christ. Derrick Bannister amused everyone as he led the congregation in a very energetic round of The Twelve Days of Christmas, before explaining just how "my true love" missed the whole point by sending multiple gifts and never coming in person!

You can listen to the whole service here.
