our sunday service PDF Print E-mail

The main time we meet together is on Sunday mornings at 10.30 in our premises on Ward Street, Lostock Hall (take a look at the Finding Us for directions). On Sunday evenings, starting in October 2008, we will be recommencing meeting monthly on the first Sunday of the month at the new time of 7pm. These services are called ENGAGE. Worship at CCF

Every Sunday is not the same! We have different styles of Sunday service for different purposes. For more details of the focus of each type of service, click on the circles.

We like to spend time discovering what the Bible teaches about how we can live useful and fulfilled lives. We believe that the 2000 year old message about Jesus Christ is as relevant to 21st century people as it was to 1st century Jews, Greeks and Romans, so we believe in using modern methods of communication as well as benefiting from our rich Christian heritage. So don't be surprised to find us using video clips as well as Bible readings, and both formal and spontaneous prayer. We like to worship God using contemporary music and we have some very talented musicians to help us do just that. Apart from all that, one of the main reasons we meet together is not just because we think we ought to, but because we've found friendship together and we enjoy it.  jesus_loves_the_chuirch.jpg

During our Sunday meeting we begin with a family time lasting about 20 minutes when everyone is together. It's often quite noisy but that's fine because it shows that people are pleased to be together. We don't mind if babies make a bit of a noise (as they are prone to do!) during this part of the service. Then after these opening few minutes we run special activities for all the children aged 0-11 and also the younger teenagers.

jailbreakers, power house & live wires
powerhouseThere's POWERHOUSE for the school age children and LIVEWIRES for the little ones. They're great!!
We've also got a lively group alled JAILBREAKERS for those who are in the first three years of secondary school. They meet most Sundays but stay in the service on the first Sunday of the month for our CONNECT services. It's OK to keep a little child with you if you want, and just in case they get restless we've got a "room with a view" (sometimes called the Fishtank) where you could go with your child and see and hear the service without disturbing anyone.

community.transformation
We have been inspired by tremendous transformations of communities and cities which are taking place in various parts of the world. Along with many other Preston churches, we are making the vision of a transformation of our lives, our neighbourhoods, our town and our nation the focus of much of our prayer and activity.
